About Safari

On this safari we visit Masai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West National Park, Taita Hills Wildlife Conservancy and Tsavo East National Park. Each park/ conservancy is unique in its own way. All through I have carefully selected some really nice midrange lodges located near or inside the park to enhance the safari experience.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival

You’ll be received at the Airport and transferred to your hotel in the city booked on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Depending on the time of arrival we can organise some activities around Nairobi city ie a visit to David Sheldrick elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Center or a Nairobi National Park tour.

Day 2Nairobi - Masai Mara

Depart for Masai Mara in the morning after breakfast to arrive at noon in the lodge

Have lunch and relax before embarking on your first game drive later in the day

Return for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3Masai Mara

Wake up and end out to the park after breakfast for a full day game drive. We leave with packed lunch so that we do not have to return back. Masai mara has a good population of the wild animals and spotting the Big 5 animals ( elephants, leopard, buffalos, lions and if lucky a Rhino), should be a little bit easy. Other wildlife can be spotted with ease and in good numbers.

Alternatively we can agree to have a morning game drive returning to the park in the mid morning and a late afternoon game drive.

Day 4Masai mara - Nakuru

We will leave Masai Mara after breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park.

We arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in the mid afternoon, check in and proceed to our lodge, Lake Nakuru Lodge with game drives en route. After lunch we end out for an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is known to host a good population of black and white rhinos. At the southern part of the lake a few flamingos can be spotted. Water levels have risen in the recent years prompting the flamingos to fly to the nearby Lake Bogoria. But we still have a couple of them left. Day 5Lake Nakuru - Amboseli

After breakfast exit Lake Nakuru National Park with game viewing en route

We arrive at AA Lodge in time for lunch and we shall follow this with a 4.00 PM game drive. Amboseli is the land of elephants. You will enjoy viewing huge elephant herds graze here and with perfect views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Apart from elephants you will be able to spot lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and more.

Day 6Amboseli

Enjoy game drives in the Amboseli. Either Full Day game drives or morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 7Amboseli - Tsavo West

We leave Amboseli after breakfast for Tsavo West national Park. This is a beautiful park which is famed for physical features like Shetani Lava flows, Chaimu Lava flows, Mzima springs and the beautiful volcanic Chyulu Hills. In addition its also an haven for wildlife with elephants, lions and giraffes dominating the park. Although spotting them is a little bit difficult owing to the bushy terrain here unlike in other parks which are more open.

Day 8Tsavo West - Taita Hills Wildlife Lodge

Taita Hills Wildlife Conservancy is an extension of Tsavo West though privately owned. It is famed for its state of heart and uniquely constructed Salt Lick Lodge. It is one of the most photographed lodges in the world. Here we shall watch wild animals come to drink water from a nearby waterhole. You will enjoy your stay here. You may have game drives inside conservancy too. Night game drives can be organised here too (Optional).

Day 9Taita Hills - Tsavo East

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge watching elephants come to drink water. Later checkout and drive to a nearby Tsavo East. Check in at the Voi gate and proceed with game drive towards Voi Safari Lodge. The lodge is elevated giving her guests a perfect view of expansive Tsavo East. Tsavo East is known for the famous Man eaters lions which attacked railway constructors during the colonial era. After lunch you may relax and end out for an evening game drive later in the evening.

Day 10Tsavo East

Explore Tsavo East in morning and afternoon game drives.

In between you will spend enjoying your stay at Voi Safari Lodge. A deep into their elevated pool will give you some stunning views of the expansive Tsavo while you relax.

Day 11Tsavo East - Nairobi

After breakfast we leave Tsavo East with our last en route game drives and drive to Nairobi. We shall have a lunch stop en route. We shall drop you at the Airport to catch your flight home.
